BOSIET

I’ve been asked why I list BOSIET in my certifcations. BOSIET stands for Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training. This course covers safety induction, helicopter safety and escape (the best bit!!), fire fighting (2nd best bit!!) sea survival and first aid. A client had me complete this training so I could photograph this ship, the Stirling Ramform, from a helicopter over the ocean while it was on it’s way to conduct a seismic survey off the southern coast of Australia.

I have to say being strapped into an upside down helicopter fuselage and then  dropped into a giant indoor swimming pool and using your training to get out safely was fun.. it was just a shame I wasn’t allowed to take my underwater camera with me!
